THE RITZ-CARLTON HAS BEEN A LUXURY ESCAPE IN THE CENTRE OF DUBAI’S BUSTLING MARINA ALMOST SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING. VIRTUOZITY TRIES OUT ITS HIDDEN CHARMS

pool and gardens. The best views are of course from higher up, but the hotel’s design is clever enough to offer everyone a view of the sea with some outdoor space to enjoy it from.

The rooms are nicely appointed with large bathrooms, separate WC and separate bath and shower. The furnishings are a mix of light and dark materials, all woven together to create a warm, welcoming feeling to the room. They are also fairly spacious, with enough room to move around the beds, a sofa area and work desk in the larger rooms.

The club rooms also get access to an exclusive club lounge, which serves a selection of food and a retreat for some real peace and quiet.

Back down in the gardens there’s a range of pools to choose from, including one with a swim up bar and a no kids policy, making it perfect for honeymooners or couples. For guests with kids, there’s also a kids club for the little ones, so the Ritz-carlton has most bases covered.

But if you really want the sand between your toes then the best bet is to grab a sun lounger on the beach and get that real Arabian experience. With uninterrupted views of the turquoise waters of the Gulf, there’s no better spot to unwind and enjoy a bit of RNR.

The hotel also has an array of options for food, with nine restaurants and lounges for its guests and visitors. The stand outs are the Blue Jade and Splendido. Blue Jade is one of

The Ritz-carlton Spa features an even more peaceful hideaway within the resort thanks to twelve treatment rooms, all offering a blend of both European and Eastern massages and packages.

The Arabia Felix is the signature treatment at the spa, which features hot wax infused into the oils, and a selection of aromas hand-picked to make your massage unique. It starts with a foot cleansing in a bath of warm camel’s milk, with the full body massage following after. Away from the treatment rooms, there’s a male and female spa area, featuring a hot and cold plunge pool, sauna and steam room, outdoor lap pool and relaxation area with heated loungers. Plus of course a well-equipped gym.

The complex is huge and it’s easy to lose your bearings inside. Luckily there’s always an attentive staff member on hand to guide you in the right direction. the countries best Southeast Asian restaurants, working its way through a range of cuisines and cooking styles from across the Asian continent. The result is a fantastic melting pot of flavours.

Splendido serves up the best artisanal Italian dishes, which are frankly excellent. Diners have the choice of an inside table or an intimate patio area inspired by a Tuscan villa. The service at both restaurants, and around the rest of the hotel, is excellent. For lunch either eat at your lounger, keep your spot at the swim up bar, or head to the Palm Grill, which gives you amazing views of the ocean whilst you eat.

The Ritz-carlton is a real gem of a hideaway, but importantly right in the middle of one of Dubai’s most happening areas. You really can shop along the Marina’s buzzing boulevard and then head back to your hotel and an oasis of calm with just a short stroll.

There’s very few hotels in the world that can make that claim.
