Cinzia Gambini & Ginevra Nencha of BiancoRosso reveal where to eat in the city

-

“We own a pizza restaurant and are big foodies. For high-end good quality Italian food, go to Villa Toscana (01). You’ll find ingredients and dishes that they only serve in Italy. For us, it is like going back in time. Definitely try the truffle risotto (02). We source our local ingredients like basil, fresh tomatoes, aubergines and some types of mushrooms from Al Buqa shop at the fruit and veg market (03) in Mina. They usually deliver to our restaurant every two or three days. We'll also go visit the place when we're after new inventory. We moved to the UAE eight years ago and one of the first restaurants we went to was Nasr Grill (04), near Abu Dhabi Mall. I kid you not – they have the best lamb chops in the whole of the city. Plus the restaurant went through a renovation a couple of months ago but kept the same prices, so it is very affordable. It's really good value for food. If you like Lebanese cuisine, try Mono (05) in Al Dhafra. This place is very traditional and is literally a gem in the old town of Abu Dhabi. Their chicken with rice (06) or half chicken is something else. For Italians coffee is very important, so when it is done well you go to the same place. Siciliano (07) is an ice cream and coffee shop that just opened a few months ago in Marina Mall. They make some of the best Sicilian pastries and ice cream you can find in Abu Dhabi, just like at home. After a day of shopping, I always order a cannoli (08) and espresso.”
