A well-known TV presenter, murs took over presenting of The X Factor’s uK sister show The Xtra Factor in 2011 alongside co-star caroline Flack. He reprised the role in 2012, before stepping down to concentrate on his music.
Murs is a well-known football fan and plays in a league team in his home county of essex.
He released a DVD entitled Olly Murs: 7 Deadly Sins Of Football in 2011 and, in the runup to the World cup 2014, he co-hosted the BBc’s World Cup’s 50 Greatest Moments with football star Rio Ferdinand.
Murs released his first autobiography, Happy Days, in october 2012. He released a second tome, On The Road, detailing life behind the scenes of his 2015 never Been Better uK Tour, three years later.
In 2012, olly murs was signed as the face of european clothing chain new Yorker, which ran a promotion where fans were able to pose with his lifesized cardboard cutout. In the same year, he modelled for murs has taken part in a number of celebrity charity drives during his career, including a 100km hike across Kenya’s Kaisut desert for comic Relief, playing for england in various soccerAid championships and even competing in rhythmic gymnastics in 2014’s sports Relief as part of a team led by British olympian sebastian coe.
