A well-known TV pre­sen­ter, murs took over pre­sent­ing of The X Fac­tor’s uK sis­ter show The Xtra Fac­tor in 2011 along­side co-star car­o­line Flack. He reprised the role in 2012, be­fore step­ping down to con­cen­trate on his mu­sic.

Murs is a well-known foot­ball fan and plays in a league team in his home county of es­sex.

He re­leased a DVD en­ti­tled Olly Murs: 7 Deadly Sins Of Foot­ball in 2011 and, in the runup to the World cup 2014, he co-hosted the BBc’s World Cup’s 50 Great­est Mo­ments with foot­ball star Rio Fer­di­nand.

Murs re­leased his first au­to­bi­og­ra­phy, Happy Days, in oc­to­ber 2012. He re­leased a sec­ond tome, On The Road, de­tail­ing life be­hind the scenes of his 2015 never Been Bet­ter uK Tour, three years later.

In 2012, olly murs was signed as the face of euro­pean clothing chain new Yorker, which ran a pro­mo­tion where fans were able to pose with his life­sized card­board cutout. In the same year, he mod­elled for murs has taken part in a num­ber of celebrity char­ity drives dur­ing his ca­reer, in­clud­ing a 100km hike across Kenya’s Kaisut desert for comic Re­lief, play­ing for eng­land in var­i­ous soc­cerAid cham­pi­onships and even com­pet­ing in rhyth­mic gym­nas­tics in 2014’s sports Re­lief as part of a team led by Bri­tish olympian se­bas­tian coe.
