The capital’s theme park is opening the region’s first flooding cinema
Yas Waterworld goes 5D and cycle all night at Al Wathba
3D and 4D are yesterday’s news – Yas Waterworld is bringing 5D to the capital. Cinesplash is a new interactive experience that will immerse viewers in around 50 centimetres of water, and the ride includes other special effects such as spraying water, explosions, rain, waterfalls and neck blasts.
The new ride on Yas Island is set to open this month and will present the history of the UAE, using state-of-the art technology, to bring the story to life.
The 36-seat theatre will screen an exclusive short film called The Legend Of The Lost Pearl, which has been designed specifically for 5D cinema. The film focuses on the UAE’s pearldiving heritage and lasts approximately 12 minutes and stars Dana, one of the water park’s characters, as she goes on a quest to find her village’s Mother Pearl. The ride also features fog, wind and three degrees of motion for an immersive effect. Tickets will be priced at Dhs30, on top of standard park entry fees.
