Farewell to Fortnum & Mason

It was a top spot for tea and cakes, but sadly Fortnum & Mason has closed its little shutters for good. The legendary British brand began in London back in 1705, proudly inventing the Scotch egg in 1738. The Dubai store opened in 2014 and was the brand’s first international posting. Located in the separate building between Dubai Mall and Address Downtown (with a great view of the fountains), the high tea spot hoped to win the hearts (and stomachs) of visitors and residents, but it wasn’t to be. There’s no news on what will replace it, but we’ll keep you updated.
