Hyundai has launched
the hybrid version of its Sonata saloon in the Middle East. The first-ever hybrid vehicle the Korean carmaker has brought to the region, the Sonata hybrid, will initially be available in Jordan before going on sale in the rest of the region. Launching the car in Amman last week, Hyundai’s vice president and head of Middle East regional headquarters, Tom Lee, said there is an increasing awareness in the region on limiting our impact on the environment, and that the hybrid model will meet this new demand. The 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is equipped with a hybrid drive system powered by a 199bhp 2.4-litre engine coupled with a 30kW electric motor.
