I am a 21- year- old woman, and I have a lot of pimple scars on my face and chest. The areas under my chin and around my cleavage are darker than my normal skin tone, so it looks very odd. Please suggest some home remedies that will work fast.

— Name withheld Natural home treatments are not a quick fix: you need to have patience and follow a regimen methodically if you want to resolve your issue. Take a slice of a juicy tomato and rub this several times on the areas you want lightened. You may do this twice or thrice a day, and can even leave the skin mask on overnight. Your skin will clear up and lighten.

I have been reading your column, and wanted to thank you for helping us save on cosmetic expenses! Coming to my issue: I have a darker skin tone on my forehead and around my eyes — basically areas where I don’t shave. Can you please suggest how I can make my skin tone lighter and also offer a home remedy to remove the hair sprouts?

— Hussain Add oats powder to honey and lemon juice, and make a smooth paste. Apply this mask on areas where the complexion needs to be cleared. Once dry, remove the mask and follow with a cold water rinse. You may do this twice or thrice a day. Hair sprouts should either be waxed or treated with a laser.

I have a 14- year- old daughter with the following issues: facial hair on cheeks and forehead ( when waxed or threaded, she gets pimples); dark upper lips’ area; dandruff in her eyebrows and hair. Also, her skin is quite dark. Please suggest some easy remedies since she is very busy with school and sports, and quite a tomboy! I also have a 6- year- old with hair on her upper lips’ area. Please suggest a remedy for that as well. Finally, something for myself! I am 34, and have dark circles. Also, I have acquired wrinkles under my eyes over the past year. Please advise.

— Name withheld After waxing or threading, apply yoghurt or aloe vera gel to calm the skin. Massage the skin several times a day with this and the pimples will be cleared and skin lightened; leaving it overnight in eyebrows and hair will rid it of dandruff.

For your 6- year- old daughter, mix an egg white with corn flour to make a thick mask and apply this onto her upper lips’ area. When the mask dries, scrub against hair growth. Do this thrice a week for good results.

For your problems, let coconut milk eye pads rest on the eyes for 10 to 15 minutes daily, before bedtime; allow the coconut milk remnants to remain overnight. The wrinkles will be smoothened.
