Strength train­ing is tra­di­tion­ally ne­glected by triathletes. But by adding sets like the dead­lift here, that ben­e­fits the ham­strings, glutes and lower back, you can be­come stronger in all three triathlon dis­ci­plines.

Bend at your hips un­til your torso is al­most par­al­lel to the floor. Make sure you main­tain a flat back.

Stiff-leg dead­lift Grab a pair of dumb­bells with an over­hand grip. Stand with your feet slightly apart.
