PLANET X 365 MAGMA CONVERTIBLE Are detachable sleeves a help or hindrance?

220 Triathlon Magazine - - KIT ZONE -

This two-in-one jacket and jersey combo has removable sleeves that you can unzip around the shoulders to turn it into a warmer, short-sleeved top, reminiscent of Castelli’s much-lauded Gabba foulweather jersey for half the price. In combination with arm warmers, it gives you a more breathable alternative to riding in a long-sleeved jacket. There’s no internal thermal fleece, which means it’s not the warmest, but it has a 5k waterproof rating to give decent protection from showers. We found it’s true to size, with a medium coming up bigger than the size large Madison. The back section has three open pockets and one zipped stash pocket, but we found the tail lengthy, meaning we were partially sitting on it during our rides. In its jacket formation, the zippers on the arms can begin to undo on out-of-thesaddle efforts, and we did have to readjust when we got back on a flat section. The removable sleeves don’t quite provide the form fit of a fully stitched jacket and, if you take them off mid-ride, they take up space in your back pockets without room for much else. But it still offers value for money if you can only budget for one jacket and a three-season jersey.
