The Vitarun jacket from Saucony is as practical as it is colourful, with plenty of reflective details, pockets galore and a soft material that’s warm but surprisingly breathable. Saucony’s Flexshell laminate is responsible for the stretchy chest panels, sleeves and upper back sections that provide good waterproofing, and it doesn’t feel at all heavy when the heavens open. Although it’s warm, we felt of all the jackets on test with thermal qualities the Vitarun did the best job of keeping us comfortable when the pace, and therefore our sweat rate, ramped up. There are two good-sized zip pockets either side on the lower front and one small one on the left chest panel, giving you plenty of storage options. At 400g for our men’s size medium it’s the heaviest jacket on test, but we certainly didn’t feel it on the fly and the inner really does a great job of wicking sweat, making the Vitarun a strong contender for a wide range of off-season temperatures.
