Although the most expensive on test, visually the Weather Jacket from On Running instantly impresses the most. The grey and white colour scheme gives it a stylish and minimalist finish, while the light weight and added ventilation provides a second-skin feeling. But the payoff is that there are areas of the jacket that are thicker, like the panel leading up to the neck, which rubbed during our runs and seemed redundant to the overall performance of the jacket. The size small felt a little on the snug side and pulled across the back for us, so we’d suggest going a size up. The hood is easy to adjust but did loosen during the test, yet the flexible peak does improve visibility on wet runs. We were protected in a light shower but did notice some water ingress in heavier showers. The jacket folds neatly and stores easily within the only pocket, again cutting down on bulk in the kit bag.
