How we tested
These are lightweight run shoes, designed to maximise speed. So the bulk of our runs were over a 2.5km test loop, completed twice for a sprint-distance and four times for an Olympic-distance run leg. We also tested them in Fartlek and interval sessions to see how they responded to swift accelerations, and utilised our Garmin FR220 to determine if stride rate markedly fluctuated between models (a lower stride rate suggests longer ground contact time and a slower run gait). Each UK10.5 model was weighed and comfort, as it should be, was based on how they felt out on the road at high speeds.
