COLUMBIA CALDORADO

- MB

£70 We’re big fans of Columbia’s trail shoes and tees, but the Caldorado is just too flawed to be a serious contender for long trail runs and Ironman run legs (if aid stations become a thing of the post-Corona world – see next issue for more). First, the good stuff, which includes the lightness and lack of any run bouncing, the range of pockets and durable construction. And the negatives? Mostly the sizing, from the phone pocket that can barely fit a phone to the difficulty in getting our own 3L hydration bladder (one isn’t supplied here) into the back compartment, and the straps that rubbed on our neck. There are no clips to keep the excess chest straps under control, while the bracket for any fluid straws prevents the zipped pocket from being released on the move. columbiasportswear.co.uk
