STYLING THE BARBERSHOP

THE LIGHT SOURCE

The main window in the scene acted as the dominant light source, and was used to provide warm diffuse light. However, some of the lighting during the rest of the sequence was cheated where necessary, simply because of the high number of reflective surfaces.

TACTILE SURFACES

The original render for the establishing shot was made more realistic with a ‘dust and dirt paint-over’, introducing a lovely feel of wear and tear into the barbershop by including grunge on the walls, hair on the floor, floorboard scratches and dust on the top-facing surfaces.

COMIC IMAGES

Some of the figures in the picture frames were 2D images taken directly from the Agent 327 comics, with the outline removed and taken through a shader. Other pictures included Creative Commons or public domain pictures edited to fit into the style of the film.
