let’s fin­ish it off with some small de­tails. Floaters are su­per quick and use­ful to use on your high-poly model and they are es­sen­tially just small de­tails you place on top of your as­set to cre­ate more depth. it’s an eas­ier method that hav­ing to cut these shapes out. once you have started on your low­poly, you can just re­move these im­me­di­ately and get them baked in. to blend them in nicely, just add an ex­tra poly­gon strip at the edge of the floater. they are a great op­ti­cal il­lu­sion un­til you an­gle them enough to break the ap­pear­ance.

i think it’s a nice idea to keep the same ma­te­rial on ob­jects with the same func­tion
