BEATING THE MODIFIERS
What happened to subtlety and style? Looking at the GT2 RS and the current GT3 RS, they look like they've come straight from one the German tuning outfits. If someone stuck a Gemballa badge on the GT2 RS, no one would be surprised, what with the wings, scoops and massive wheels. They might make for an amazing time round the ’Ring, but all that stuff makes an amazingly ugly and testosterone laden car, that most folk wouldn't be seen dead in.
Of the modern GT Porsches, the original 996 GT3 still works best. Narrow body, elegant 'swan neck' rear wing, 18in wheels. Perfect. Barry Wilton, via email
