Bur­glars strike at golf club

HIGH value ma­chin­ery has been stolen from Great Har­wood Golf Club.

Po­lice said bur­glars broke into a garage in the mid­dle of the golf course on Whal­ley Road, dam­ag­ing me­tal shut­ters.

The of­fend­ers stole an or­ange Ki­oti CK30 Trac­tor, a green and yel­low John Deer TE Ga­tor and a green and yel­low John Deer 3235C Fair­way.

Lan­cashire Po­lice said fenc­ing around the stor­age area and the perime­ter wall was also dam­aged as the equip­ment was driven over the golf course.

One of the ve­hi­cles was aban­doned be­yond the wall and po­lice said the oth­ers are thought to have been driven along the path on Mill Lane and up Whal­ley Road.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened some­time be­tween 4am and 7am on Fri­day, July 24.

A po­lice spokesper­son said no ar­rests have yet been made.
