Pals in ‘once in a lifetime’ marathon for cause

-

TWO friends will lace up their trainers to take part in a gruelling running challenge for charity.

Joanne Richards and Jennifer Sherriff, both from Great Harwood, will compete in the London Marathon next month to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.

The pair say they are doing it for a close friend’s family member who is affected by the disease.

Joanna, 37, who has been running for several years and previously completed The Great South Run, said: “We want to use this once in a lifetime opportunity to help make a difference by raising as much money as possible for Parkinson’s UK.

“It’s a tough challenge and we want to make it as worthwhile as possible.”

Jennifer, 31, who only started running practice in January, said: “The training has been tough but much easier with Jen. The weather hasn’t always been kind but we’ve got out there and completed all our runs.

“We’re just hoping to finish and have a great time doing it.”

They are planning their longest training run on April 1 and are asking people to support them by joining them for any distance along the route.
