Three ar­rested af­ter armed po­lice swoop

ARMED po­lice swooped on a house to make ar­rests.

Of­fi­cers de­scended on Malt Street in Ac­cring­ton at around 8pm on Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 16 and sealed off the road for more than an hour. Other roads, in­clud­ing Knowl­mere Street, were also cor­doned off.

At least six ve­hi­cles and more than a dozen of­fi­cers were de­ployed along with a po­lice dogs unit.

Lan­cashire Po­lice said they made three ar­rests

Adam Neal, 31, of no fixed abode, has ap­peared at Black­burn Mag­is­trates court charged with rob­bery at Rish­ton Mini Mar­ket and pos­ses­sion of a kitchen knife. He was re­manded in cus­tody to ap­pear at Burn­ley Crown Court on Septem­ber 21.
