Stanley Community Trust’s ‘exciting plans’
A CHARITY which has raised £2million for projects and programmes across Hyndburn has unveiled new plans as it celebrates its seventh birthday.
Accrington Stanley Community Trust (ASCT) has engaged with a ‘staggering’ 10,000 people in the last 12 months and last year won the Hyndburn Community Business of the Year Award.
Charity bosses say they have ‘enjoyed unprecedented growth in all areas’ and now employ 11 full-time staff from the local area, with a further 15 part-time members.
ASCT are also behind plans for a new £2m community sports hub at Higham’s Playing Fields.
Martin Fearon, chief executive officer, said: “It has been a great journey over the past seven years and we continue to go from strength to strength. We are an award-winning charity that makes a positive impact in our community and we want to build on this over the next 12 months. We have some exciting plans next year which include a range of new sport and education provision as well as a brand new sports hub.”
The trust has also secured funding from the Premier League, National Lottery and Sport England for ‘new and existing projects’.
