Can you sing like an angel?

Accrington Observer - - BEFORE THE BENCH -

AN appeal has been launched to find singers to perform at the upcoming Altham Angels festival.

Organisers say they have been ‘let down at the last minute’ by the singer booked to perform at the event on Saturday, September 9.

The festival will see gardens across Altham filled with large angels made by residents using items from paper to lorry parts.

Parishioners at St James Church in Altham will hold the second action-packed festival on September 9-10.

Les Moore, church warden, said: “Can you sing like an angel? If you can then here’s an opportunity for anyone trying to make a name for themselves in the music industry.

“As this is a community event, rather than leave a gap in the programme, they have decided to see if anyone would like to fill the gap for free, in exchange for the opportunity to display their talents.

If several people respond then the slot will be extended by an hour, fully acoustic and streamed live on Facebook.”

Anyone interested in performing should contact Claire at claireratcliffewilson@ googlemail.com.
