Singer to play gig ahead of fes­ti­val

A SINGER-SONG­WRITER will per­form at The Ar­ti­san in Rawten­stall on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 14.

Mat Skin­ner, who is also a com­poser and pro­ducer, plays gui­tar and har­mon­ica.

He per­forms acous­tic mu­sic, in­flu­enced by the likes of Neil Young, Leonard Co­hen and Jack­son C Frank

He was com­mis­sioned by 14/18 Now, an arts pro­gramme to com­mem­o­rate the cen­te­nary of the end of the First World War, to per­form The Scarecrow at Glas­ton­bury’s Left­field Stage along­side Billy Bragg.

His de­but EP, With The Power Of A Thou­sand Suns, was re­leased in 2015.

Now he per­forms with back­ing mu­si­cians Andy Har­g­reaves of I Am Kloot, Dean Case­ment from The Plume­dores and Dickon Kyme-Wright from Tom Hin­g­ley’s Kar-Pets.

Mat and his band will play at The Ar­ti­san on Thurs­day, ahead of their per­for­mance at Rams­bot­tom fes­ti­val Head for the Hills on Sun­day, Septem­ber 16.

Doors open at 8pm and tick­ets cost £3.
