Four in­jured in smash

FOUR peo­ple were in­jured in a ‘se­ri­ous’ col­li­sion which blocked Grane Road.

Po­lice said a white Seat Ibiza and a grey Peu­geot were in­volved in the col­li­sion on El­ton Road, by the Grey Mare Inn in Belthorn, at around 2pm on Tues­day, October 24.

An air am­bu­lance, the am­bu­lance ser­vice and fire ser­vice were also called to the in­ci­dent.

A road block was put in place on Grane Road by the Holden Arms in Hasling­den.

A Lan­cashire po­lice spokesman said: “We were called just af­ter 2pm to re­ports of a se­ri­ous in­jury road traf­fic col­li­sion.

“There were two ca­su­al­ties in each ve­hi­cle.

“The pas­sen­ger in the Seat Ibiza had a leg in­jury and the driver had back pain. There were no life-threat­en­ing in­juries.”
