A GROUP of friends com­pleted the Three Peaks Chal­lenge for char­ity.

Trevor Jen­nings, from Oswaldtwistle, was joined by five friends to raise money for Asthma UK and aware­ness of the con­di­tion.

His son Ethan, three, has had to go to hos­pi­tal nearly 20 times over the last two years due to the sever­ity of his asthma.

Trevor, 37, com­pleted the chal­lenge in just un­der 12 hours and was joined by Jo and Ben Col­well, Jodie Batt­son and Nina and Abi­gail Paula.

The group com­fort­ably sur­passed their £1,000 tar­get for Asthma UK.


MOUNT Carmel High School has an­nounced the win­ner of its open evening prize - a com­puter tablet.

Emily McNaught, a year six pupil at St Anne’s & St Joseph’s RC Pri­mary school, at­tended Mount Carmel with her fam­ily and went on a per­sonal tour.

Sue Field­ing, school part­ner­ship man­ager, said: “Emily was thrilled to re­ceive the prize and had a lovely smile on her face when I came to her class and pre­sented it to her.”
