Accrington Observer - - ACCRINGTON PEOPLE -

Name: Joyce Teasdale. Hometown: Baxenden. Society: Civic Theatre. Oswaldtwistle Are you involved in any productions at the moment?: I’m playing Blind Pew in Treasure Island, which you can see at the Civic Theatre in Oswaldtwistle on July 27 and 28. What do you most enjoy?: The fun and friendship is amazing, we always have a laugh. Have you been in any other productions?: Many, most recently being Blackadder with Oswaldtwistle Players, playing Mrs Miggins. Who is your favourite

actor and why?: Quite a few of the older ones. I loved Patrick Swayze and Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Anne Hathaway – they are all amazing actors. If you could play any part what would it be and why?: If it were a part in a musical it would have to be Bloody Mary in South Pacific, she is one sassy lady and I love her character and her songs. If it were a play then Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers because of the seriousness and the humour. Any more information?: I have been in amateur dramatics for over 30 years, taking a break from acting to direct a yearly panto but came back to acting when I joined Oswaldtwistle Players in 2015. They made me feel so welcome that I hope to continue performing with them for many years to come. Any more information?: Tickets for Treasure Island are £7.50 for adults and £5 for children available from www.civicartscen or 01254 398319.
