Celebration at centre

MEMBERS of the Bank Street Community Centre in Church have celebrated its 35th anniversary.

Residents enjoyed a special buffet and were joined by ward councillors Jean Battle and Loraine Cox. Councillors say the centre has been a ‘key part’ of the community and is ‘just as well used now as it was when first opened’.

The building was under council ownership until 2006, when it transferred to Onward Housing Group.
