Air Gunner - - Your Letters -

In the March Air Gunner, ‘Dave’ asked if there was a ‘onestop’ manual to help him strip airguns. As you said, there is no book that would cover all designs; but all may not be lost. There is a book, ‘Air Rifle and Air Pistol Maintenance and Repair’ by Q. Cobham, 2006, ISBN-10 0-9553131- 0- 4; but this does not cover everything. If Dave’s airguns come under the Collectables category, may I also refer him to the ‘Idiots Guide’ sticky thread in the Collectables Forum on the Airgun BBS web page. This provides detailed instructions on stripping and rebuilding a great many older airguns. For more modern airguns it is often possible to find information from various magazine articles, your own Air Gunner articles by Neil Price being a good example, or by Google searches. A question asked on the Airgun BBS will also usually result in much advice to guide Dave. Phil

Hello Phil Thanks for that information. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from it. Ed
