John Knibbs International has been a leading name in the British airgun trade for well over 50 years, and is best known for supplying what is probably the largest range of airgun spare parts in the world. Based in rural Warwickshire, within a stone’s throw of the NEC and Birmingham Airport, the shop is ideally positioned to serve Midlands shooters. So, if you coming to the British Shooting Show, why not make the short trip from the NEC to The CountryStore Gunshop (B46 2RR), and visit one of the friendliest most knowledgeable gun shops you could find?

John Knibbs may have retired some years ago from active involvement in the company that still proudly bares his name, but the business continues a forward march under his son, Mark, and daughter-inlaw, Tessa. So, the encyclopaedic airgun knowledge accumulated by John, that Mark was brought up on like mother’s milk, has coalesced into a heritage that few could aspire to, let alone rival.

From small beginnings in John’s house, the business has thrived and grown into a substantial concern, comprising three branches serving different markets. There is the retail shop branded as The CountryStore Gunshop to differentiate it from the original spares side of the business, which started as John Knibbs International and now trades through the website; and there is also Titan, the manufacturing side, supplying Titan springs and airgun tuning products.

The CountryStore Gunshop is the most visible part of the business and draws customers from far and wide across the Midlands and beyond. As well as our great prices, range of stock and depth of knowledge there is also ample free parking, a ‘try before you buy’ range for airgun shooters, and a clay trap facility for prospective shotgun buyers; not something that many shops can offer! Over the weekend of the British Shooting Show, there will be some very special deals available to customers, new and old, who visit the shop.

This is not just another store, it’s a veritable Aladdin’s cave full of surprises and carrying a comprehensive product range from airguns through shotguns to rimfire and full-bore rifles, together with all the accessories and add- ons that you could ever need. There’s more; if you are interested in vintage airguns this really is the place for you because you will find old BSAs, Webleys and Lincoln Jeffries, along with a smattering of other historic names such as Original, Jem and Quackenbush.

Many years ago, John Knibbs recognised that in the future shooters would need to be able to service and repair older guns and he had the foresight to buy the parts for obsolete models from manufacturers wishing to clear out old inventory and to make space for their current models. By doing so, he ensured that guns which would

otherwise have become scrap decades ago are still being used and enjoyed today – a service to the airgun shooting community for which we should all be grateful.

Spares for guns made by over 40 manufacturers covering hundreds of models are always in stock and can be ordered via the website or by phoning the mail- order department. The level of stockholding is huge, with tens of thousands of lines and millions of items in stock. Shooters all over the world are serviced through the website and parts are exported to over 50 countries.

The beating heart of any traditional air rifle is the mainspring that powers it. Since the 1970s, we have manufactured Titan XS Mainsprings and tuning products which we supply to airgun enthusiasts, professional airgun customisers and gun shops around the world. Fitting high- quality internals and tuning will improve the performance of all air rifles.

Titan XS mainsprings have stood the test of time and have justifiably become established as the mainspring against which others are measured. We only use the finest quality Grade 1 Swedish Silicon Chrome Vanadium spring steel, and every spring is wound to an exact specification, heat treated and tempered to ensure ultimate performance and maximum durability. Our springs are made using the latest production methods and individually quality-inspected to ensure the highest quality. All Titan products are fully guaranteed. During final tempering, the springs are coated with a specially formulated, hard but flexible, multislip finish. This high-technology coating has self-lubricating properties which greatly reduce the need for conventional lubricants on the spring and inside the pisto; these can attract grit and particles that can affect the performance of your gun. Titan also supply graphited nylon power boosters, spring guides and top hats, which make the whole cocking and firing process much smoother and more efficient.

So, with airgun spares, guns, accessories galore and a ‘try before you buy’ service only a few miles from the British Shooting Show, you would be mad not to pay a visit!
