Community council will meet in the village’s community centre, on Main Street, on Tuesday, April 11, at 7pm. The main agenda items will be the local bus services and the rejection of a train station for Plains. Mothers and toddlers group runs in Elim Gospel Hall every Wednesday from 10am to 11.30am. Contact Anna for more details on the group on 07810 772114. Scouts meetings 1st Clyde Scouts’ weekly meetings take place on Wednesdays at the St David’s and Plains primary schools’ campus. Beavers for six to eight-year-olds meet from 6.15pm to 7.15pm and Cubs for ages eight to 10 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The cost for both meetings is £2.50 and youngsters attending are asked to take soft shoes and a drink. Volunteers and new starts are welcome to attend. Beavers’ Space Badge, an Easter egg hunt, fishing, allotments and swimming are among the group’s ever growing calendar of activities. Call organiser Linda Lafferty on 01236 609515 for more.
