Events for community
Airdrie and Coatbridge Round Table and its new successor organisation, XACT, have a busy month of community events ahead.
They are inviting local teams to join a tenpin bowling event next Tuesday, June 6, at 7pm in Airdrie; while members will also be marshalling the St Andrew’s Hospice annual ladies’ midnight walk on Saturday, June 17.
Group members have also arranged a six-hour emergency first aid course for 15 community group leaders on June 19 and 20, which will also include additional information and advice for those working with young children or who undertake outdoor activities.
The Advertiser previously how the local Round Table will be transforming over the course of the year into the new independent XACT group, to increase membership and continue its community work.
Group representative Steven Flannigan said: “We’re keen to get to know other local groups and what they do in the Airdrie and Coatbridge community using these events.
“The hospice ladies’ walk is a fantastic event which we’ve supported since it started, and we could do with a little help from our community as we strive to marshal and cover as many points as possible.”
