Pupils learn road safety
Young pupils from two Airdrie primary schools received certificates from North Lanarkshire Council’s safe and sustainable travel team after successfully completing road safety training.
The Primary 1 and 2 pupils from Clarkston and Glengowan primaries took part in the child pedestrian training scheme.
The project is a practical, kerbside, road safety programme aimed at reducing child pedestrian casualties and fatalities and encouraging children to becoming independent pedestrians in the future.
The youngsters received training in three key skills: choosing safer places and routes to cross the road; crossing safely between parked cars; and crossing safely at junctions.
Well done to all the young pedestrians on successfully completing the course.
