Gartlea artist David McDonagh was pleased to see his latest success story – winning the approval of rocker Ian Brown and wrestler Goldberg – feature in last week’s Advertiser: “Page 13 of today’s @acadvertiser. Thanks again; another one to add to the growing collection. Very happy.”

Albion Rovers’ PA announcer Daniel Mossie has expanded his connections with his favourite club: “Taking up another role within @albionrovers as the new treasurer of the supporters trust. Can’t wait to start.”

Like the Advertiser’s resident movie critic Ian Bunting, Coatbridge comic book guru Mark Millar was a huge fan of new blockbuster Spider-Man Homecoming: “Just out of Spider-Man and this might be the best Marvel movie so far. I’m absolutely serious. This is a perfect 10.”

It sounds like Airdrie man Kenny McHugh had a ball attending Scotland’s newest music festival, TRNSMT, in Glasgow at the weekend: “What a brilliant weekend! Music and atmosphere were top notch. Hope it becomes an annual festival #TRNSMT.”

Coatbridge gymnast Kimberley Renicks was put through her paces: “Crossfit done, three mile run with ten-plus 20m sprints with @Lisa10__ done, now recovery time before gym tonight.”
