Stunned by the situation

Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser - - Advertiser @ View -

Dear Editor I went along to the Airdrieonians fans meeting held last week after reading last week’s front-page story [Advertiser, July 5].

I’m stunned with the situation we are in as a club and I just don’t know where we go from here.

For a start, Tom Wotherspoon should have been there to explain himself and explain why he is pulling out to the point that we were “technically insolvent ”and facing liquidation.

The Ballantynes did turn up, but to be honest I left with more questions than answers; on top of questions being asked which were not answered.

I was also surprised to hear them having a go at the Advertiser and Jim later telling the room that Airdrie fans are a hard crowd to play in front of!

What a cheek given the fact that the club will need the money and support of fans now more than ever.

Everyone expects this season to be hard on the pitch with a team of young kids, but I really fear for the club off it. Name and address supplied

Happier times For Wotherspoon and Ballantyne
