A vile Coatbridge sex beast who raped two little girls when he was a teenager has been caged for nine years.

Sickening Hugh McAllister, 59, first targeted the youngsters when they were aged just three and four.

The attacks took place at an address in the town back in the early 1970s.

The offences relating to the elder of his young victims, which included one instance of rape and of making sexual remarks to her, took place over a four-year period beginning in 1971, when McAllister was 13 years old.

His second young victim was raped on “various occasions” between 1973 and 1976.

A jury at Edinburgh High Court last week found McAllister, whose address was given as Bothwell Place, Blairhill, guilty by majority of raping both girls and of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour. He was sentenced to nine years and immediately taken into custody.

The jury also returned not proven verdicts on accusations of three further sexual offences against McAllister.

He was accused of having an “unnatural carnal connection” with a young boy between 1975 and 1977.

McAllister additionally faced charges of indecently assaulting a 16-year-old girl on two occasions between 1977 and 1979, and of using “lewd practices” and making a sexual remark towards a 14-year-old girl in 1978.
