Ear­lier starts for pa­rades agreed

The tim­ings of three pro­ces­sions in Coat­bridge have been changed fol­low­ing coun­cil con­sid­er­a­tion.

Coat b r idge United Ir­ish­men flute band will hold an event this Satur­day, and an­other on Novem­ber 25.

Both will now as­sem­ble from 8.30am, with the pa­rades be­gin­ning at 9am, in­stead of orig­i­nal­lypro­posed 1.30pm and 4pm.

Satur­day ’ s route is Moss­park Road, Town­head Road, Gartsher­rie Road, Sun­ny­side Road, Baird Street and Acad­emy Street.

The Novem­ber 25 pa­rade will take in Lomond Road, Gartsher­rie Road, Sun­ny­side Road, Church St reet, Muiry­hall Street, Dun­beth Road, Main Street, Coat­bank Street and Eas­ton Place.

Mean­while, Hope Over In­tim­i­da­tion plan to have a pro­ces­sion on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 7.

Its tim­ings were also moved to the ear­lier 8.30am for 9am slot, fol­low­ing con­sul­ta­tion ahead of last week’s meet­ing of North La­nark­shire Coun­cil’s public pro­ces­sions com­mit­tee.

All three pro­ces­sions are ex­pected to in­volve ap­prox­i­mately 50 peo­ple.
