Earlier starts for parades agreed
The timings of three processions in Coatbridge have been changed following council consideration.
Coat b r idge United Irishmen flute band will hold an event this Saturday, and another on November 25.
Both will now assemble from 8.30am, with the parades beginning at 9am, instead of originallyproposed 1.30pm and 4pm.
Saturday ’ s route is Mosspark Road, Townhead Road, Gartsherrie Road, Sunnyside Road, Baird Street and Academy Street.
The November 25 parade will take in Lomond Road, Gartsherrie Road, Sunnyside Road, Church St reet, Muiryhall Street, Dunbeth Road, Main Street, Coatbank Street and Easton Place.
Meanwhile, Hope Over Intimidation plan to have a procession on Saturday, October 7.
Its timings were also moved to the earlier 8.30am for 9am slot, following consultation ahead of last week’s meeting of North Lanarkshire Council’s public processions committee.
All three processions are expected to involve approximately 50 people.
