DELVE INTO THE ADVERTISER ARCHIVES Fantastic four help charity

Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser - - Views -

A quick-fire quartet of cousins went full speed ahead to collect a three- figure sum for charity in 2002.

Allan and Graeme Wright and Martin and Thomas Ritchie teamed up to raise £ 633 for Cancer Research UK by completing the Great Scottish Junior Run around Glasgow Green.

Mar tin, a pupil at Coatbridge’s Rosehall High School, was first over the line when he clocked an impressive time of 15 minutes and 59 seconds.

Allan finished just five seconds behind Martin, with nine-year-olds Graeme and Thomas putting many older runners to shame with a fleet-footed finish time of 19 minutes, 44 seconds.

The fantastic four are pictured in the pages of the October 30, 2002, Advertiser.
