Waysiders are dismantled by Lenzie

Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser - - Sports -

Waysiders/Drumpellier are still looking for their first home points of the season after a 52-14 defeat to a powerful Lenzie side.

Lenzie took the lead early-on with a try and conversion in 15 minutes, however, the score came against the run of play and the Langloan men fought back into the game.

Ross Ferguson went over for the try for W/D, before scoring the conversion to tie the game.

The sides were evenly matched, with some great back-line running creating some nervous moments for the visitors.

However, W/D were finding it difficult to defend Lenzie’s high-ball tactics, and found themselves 21-7 down at the break.

Lenzie were dominant in the second period, and took control of the game as they scored their fourth try of the game just after half-time to secure the bonus point - and put the game out of sight.

There was little consolation for W/D - who scored another late try and conversion as the away side racked up a total of 52.

•Waysiders/Drumpellier are on the road again the Saturday as they travel to Strathaven.
