Football camps back for October Week
The Albion Rovers Football Camps are set to return next month.
As part of the ‘ Rovers in the Community’ project youngsters will be welcomed to Cliftonhill from Monday October 16 to Friday October 20. The camp will be led by Rovers manager Brian Kerr, alongside striker Sean Higgins and wing-back Scott McLaughlin.
The kids will be put through their paces with skill drills, tournaments, and other fun games.
Higgins, who also led a similar camp this summer, is hoping for a good turnout from young Rovers fans and keen footballers under the age of 14 across Monklands.
“I’m looking forward to it and we’re hoping to get some good weather!” he told the Advertiser.
“We had a really good response to the camp in the summer, and I’ve already had a few parents find out about coming back again.
“I’ve been going around some of the schools and the kids seem keen on it - so the more we can get the better it will be!”
He added that the team are looking to use other training facilties if the winter weather bites during the camp.
The camp is priced at £50 for the week, or £10 per day.
