Light up a life to sup­port Air­drie hos­pice

St An­drew’s Hos­pice will hold its an­nual “light up a life”cer­e­mony on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 3.

The Air­drie char­ity runs an an­nual cam­paign invit­ing sup­port­ers to spon­sor a light on its Christ­mas tree in mem­ory or in hon­our of a loved one.

All funds raised by the an­nual fes­tive cam­paign go to sup­port the spe­cial­ist pal­lia­tive care pro­vided by the hos­pice – which has to raise £88,000 ev­ery week to run its range of ser­vices.

Lights can be spon­sored by call­ing 01236 766951, go­ing on­line at www. st-an­drews- hos­, vis­it­ing the hos­pice’s Hen­der­son Street re­cep­tion on week­days be­tween 9am and 4.30pm, or vis­it­ing any of the hos­pice’s shops, in­clud­ing at Hall­craig Street in Air­drie and Main Street in Coat­bridge.

Sup­port­ers who par­tic­i­pate in the“light up a life”cam­paign can also have a hand­writ­ten, per­son­alised card de­liv­ered to them­selves or a friend or rel­a­tive to let them know that they are be­ing kept in some­one’s thoughts.

The tree-light­ing cer­e­mony will be part of the hos­pice’s an­nual gather­ing to re­mem­ber loved ones, at 7pm on De­cem­ber 3.

It will take place in the grounds of the hos­pice on Hen­der­son Street in Air­drie; where the build­ing is cur­rently un­der re­build­ing and ren­o­va­tion.
