Carnbroe Primary raise cash at a ghostly walk

Coatbridge youngsters had a spooktacularly fun time at their recent fundraising event.

Ghostly ghouls and monstrously attired pupils and their parents took part in this year’s Carnbroe Primary School’s‘spooky walk’, which saw kids of all ages and adults leave the school’s Kirkton Crescent campus to walk around the Monklands Canal route.

Both children and adults with painted faces donned a colourful array of costumes for the Halloween themed event to raise much-needed funds.

Carnbroe Primary’s parent council chairperson Debbie Shaw enthused: “The event was well attended and we hope to top the amount of £1300 - which was raised from last year’s sponsored walk.”

The money raised from last year’s event was used by the school to purchase two outdoor learning play huts, as well as entertainment for the children, a tepee, and a free community summer fun day organised by members of the parent council.
