Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser - - Working For You - Graham Miller

There are still some tickets available for what promises to be a knockout performance from former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno, when he rolls into Airdrie tomorrow night.

The beloved boxer will be a guest of Airdrieonians Supporters’ Trust at the town’s Working Men’s Club.

Bruno is one of the most recognisable boxers in British history and took on some of the world’s best heavyweights during his illustrious career.

He became heavyweight champion by taking the WBC crown in 1995, defeating Oliver McCall at a packed Wembley Stadium.

Bruno boasts an impressive record, winning 40 of his 45 bouts and 38 by knockout.

The evening promises to be a frank discussion with Airdrie Supporters’ Trust favourite Ross Owen, as the champion talks about his fights in the ring and his battle with mental health issues outside the ropes.

There are three packages available for the event:

VIP Tickets costing £ 85; Deluxe at £50 and Standard at £30 each.

All funds raised go towards the Football For Everyone projects, including the Diamonds Sensory Room at the Excelsior Stadium for autistic children.
