Kids’ skills tests challenges

Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser - - Coatbridge High School In Malawi Fundraiser - Ian Bunting

Coatbridge High School pupils went head-to-head in a series of entertaining challenges that tested their brains, strength and baking skills.

The school was abuzz with the sound of hearty competition for its Inter House Day contest.

Youngsters representing each of the school’s three houses – Atlas, Caledonian and Phoenix – faced off in an attempt to win points for their respective teams.

They were pitted against each other in fun events including a tug of war, badminton, Wii games, cake decorating and a general knowledge quiz.

Caledonian house came out on top in a close-run competition and were congratulated by the school on their “fantastic success”.

The Inter House Day also doubled up as a non-uniform day where pupils made a donation to leave their blazers, shirts and ties at home and wore casual clothing in the classroom instead.

Funds collected from pupils and their families, and school staff, helped Coatbridge High School raise a terrific £1200 for its Malawi-related projects.

Thanks to all who took part.
