A group of Salsburgh youngsters had the opportunity to grill MP Neil Gray during his recent visit to their school.

The inquisitive P5, 6 and 7 pupils at Kirk O’Shotts Primary quizzed the Airdrie politician on his parliamentary life during an informative Q&A session.

The budding young political commentators’questions varied from“how do you vote”to“what do you want to do next”and everything in between.

As part of the build-up to UK Parliament Week, the children discussed politics, as well as careers they may be interested in pursuing.

Mr Gray said:“One of the best parts of my job is talking to school pupils and the questions that they ask really keep you grounded.

“I congratulate the class teachers Miss Barr and Mrs Arthur but, most importantly, the pupils for the fantastic work that they have done.”
