Pupils high­light need to hon­our our war heroes

Prior to the an­nual Re­mem­brance events tak­ing place across Mon­k­lands this week­end, the Ad­ver­tiser popped into Plains Pri­mary School and asked the pupils for their views on the im­por­tance of pay­ing tribute to the fallen at this time of year.

Scott McDowall, 10, said: “It’s im­por­tant to pay re­spects to ev­ery­one who died in war.”

Chloe Gaynor, 11: “They risked their lives so that one day the world could live in peace.”

David Pea­cock, 11, agreed: “We don’t for­get about the peo­ple who fought for our coun­try.”

Liana Hol­land, 10, said: “We must be thank­ful to ev­ery­one who fought and died.”
