Coatbridge youngster Robbie Griffith performed at a global parkour event in Sweden at the weekend.

The 16-year-old finished a very credible eighth after making it to the semi-final stage of the tournament.

Robbie, who was the youngest participant in the event which consisted of 18 competitors, impressed judges during the qualifying rounds.

A delighted Robbie said: “I really didn’t expect to qualify!

“We were given around two hours to plan our route and then perform in front of around 2000 spectators in the arena.

“I was really nervous in front of that number of people but I did well and I’m very happy.

”To come eighth out of 65 in a parkour-style competition is something I’m proud of.

The Air wipp tournament, held in Helsingborg, has given Robbie yet another platform to showcase his phenomenal talent.

He added: “It’s so cool travelling the world doing what I enjoy.

“Hopefully it continues!”
