Rotarians given food for thought
Airdrie Foodbank is £300 richer – thanks to the generosity of kind-hearted Monklands Rotarians.
David Findlay from the community facility was the special guest at the Rotary Club of Coatbridge, Airdrie & Monklands latest meeting at The Tudor Hotel.
A Rotary Club spokesperson said: “David gave an eye-opening description of the help and support offered by Airdrie foodbank.
“More than 40 volunteers help at distribution points, supermarket collections and food sorting at the foodbank’s warehouse, and a steering group is in place to ensure effective operation.
“We thank David for providing such an informative, thoughtprovoking talk.”
After speaking to rotarians, David was presented with a £300 donation from the club, which he is pictured accepting from Natalie Pendry (above).
The funds were collected during the Rotary Club’s“hugely successful” charity ceilidh.
The club’s meetings take place on Mondays at The Tudor Hotel at 6.15pm for 6.30pm. Visit www. coatbridgeairdrierotary.org.uk/
