Ro­tar­i­ans given food for thought

Air­drie Food­bank is £300 richer – thanks to the gen­eros­ity of kind-hearted Mon­k­lands Ro­tar­i­ans.

David Find­lay from the com­mu­nity fa­cil­ity was the spe­cial guest at the Ro­tary Club of Coat­bridge, Air­drie & Mon­k­lands lat­est meet­ing at The Tu­dor Ho­tel.

A Ro­tary Club spokesper­son said: “David gave an eye-open­ing de­scrip­tion of the help and sup­port of­fered by Air­drie food­bank.

“More than 40 vol­un­teers help at dis­tri­bu­tion points, su­per­mar­ket col­lec­tions and food sort­ing at the food­bank’s ware­house, and a steer­ing group is in place to en­sure ef­fec­tive op­er­a­tion.

“We thank David for pro­vid­ing such an in­for­ma­tive, thought­pro­vok­ing talk.”

Af­ter speak­ing to ro­tar­i­ans, David was pre­sented with a £300 do­na­tion from the club, which he is pic­tured ac­cept­ing from Natalie Pendry (above).

The funds were col­lected dur­ing the Ro­tary Club’s“hugely suc­cess­ful” char­ity ceilidh.
