Bureau’s on hunt for help
Coatbridge Citizens Advice Bureau has issued an appeal for new volunteers to help them support Monklands residents.
Anyone who is “retired, working part time or not working and looking for something to do” is encouraged to give a few hours of their time to the organisation.
A spokesperson for the bureau told the Advertiser: “Interested parties can contact us and spend a few hours with us to see if they’d like to volunteer as an adviser.
“We offer excellent training and plenty of support throughout your training; and the satisfaction of helping others is a great feeling.
“We need more volunteers to help us provide our frontline services, so why not give it a try?”
To register an interest in volunteering with the bureau, contact its manager, Marian Tobin, on 01236 427660 or pop into its base at Coatbridge Fountain Business Centre. Meanwhile, the Coatbridge bureau is also offering support for residents looking for energy advice.
The spokesperson added: “Our staff are here to support anyone wanting to switch energy suppliers for a better deal; just pop in with a current utility bill and we’ll do the rest. We also offer advice on different types of tariffs and meters and energy-saving tips.”
