Bu­reau’s on hunt for help

Coat­bridge Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bu­reau has is­sued an ap­peal for new vol­un­teers to help them sup­port Mon­k­lands res­i­dents.

Any­one who is “re­tired, work­ing part time or not work­ing and look­ing for some­thing to do” is en­cour­aged to give a few hours of their time to the or­gan­i­sa­tion.

A spokesper­son for the bu­reau told the Ad­ver­tiser: “In­ter­ested par­ties can con­tact us and spend a few hours with us to see if they’d like to vol­un­teer as an ad­viser.

“We of­fer ex­cel­lent train­ing and plenty of sup­port through­out your train­ing; and the sat­is­fac­tion of help­ing oth­ers is a great feel­ing.

“We need more vol­un­teers to help us pro­vide our front­line ser­vices, so why not give it a try?”

To reg­is­ter an in­ter­est in vol­un­teer­ing with the bu­reau, con­tact its man­ager, Mar­ian Tobin, on 01236 427660 or pop into its base at Coat­bridge Foun­tain Busi­ness Cen­tre. Mean­while, the Coat­bridge bu­reau is also of­fer­ing sup­port for res­i­dents look­ing for en­ergy ad­vice.

The spokesper­son added: “Our staff are here to sup­port any­one want­ing to switch en­ergy sup­pli­ers for a bet­ter deal; just pop in with a cur­rent util­ity bill and we’ll do the rest. We also of­fer ad­vice on dif­fer­ent types of tar­iffs and me­ters and en­ergy-sav­ing tips.”
