There was magic in the air for World Book Day
Page-turning pupils at an Airdrie school were allowed to let their imaginations run wild as part of its World Book Day celebrations.
Tollbrae Primary marked the annual literary extravaganza by reading all about some of the most iconic fictional characters.
The enthusiastic children were helped along the way by visiting staff from Waterstones’Glasgow book store, who brought along an exciting collection of stories to wow their hosts.
These included the magical adventures of boy wizard Harry Potter, imaginative tales from classic children’s author Roald Dahl and comedian and TV presenter Julian Clary’s fun-filled The Bolds tales.
The lucky pupils were able to trade in their World Book Day tokens and snap up some of the sensational stories on offer.
A Tollbrae Primary spokesperson said:“The children had a wonderful time reading the books and we’d like to thank the Waterstones team for devoting their time to come along.”
