Help fill charity’s appeal boxes

- Ian Bunting

Marie Curie is appealing to Monklands residents to help raise hundreds of pounds by looking after appeal boxes this month.

The charity also needs more people to help manage collection cans in shops, bars and restaurants throughout Airdrie and Coatbridge.

These cans are replaced every year with Great Daffodil Appeal boxes during the month of March.

Community fundraiser Georgia Ramplin explained: “The money raised from these cans and boxes helps to provide hands-on nursing care and support for terminally ill people in their own homes.

“Looking after collection cans and daffodil boxes is a simple and effective way to help support your local Marie Curie nurses.

“I’m looking to hear from people who can visit sites in their area once every few months to replace the full can with an empty one, and count and bank the money raised.”

Those looking for further information about these volunteering roles can contact Georgia on 07730 619485 or at georgia. ramplin@mariecurie.org.uk
