More than 140 Caldervale High pupils and staff went to great heights to raise a four-figure sum for St Andrew’s Hospice.

First-year students scaled the 2333-foot high Tinto Hill and managed to collect a wonderful £4200 worth of sponsorship donations.

They didn’t let the overcast and windy weather deter them as they completed the annual climb before putting their trekking time to good use by returning to school to complete a Tinto-themed quiz.
